Mitt Rommney

Hello once again,

Mitt Romney will be the subject of my first official research blog. Mitt Romney is an astounding candidate with views that support the traditional right, although his views agree with those of the right, he has a major bump in the road. Many traditionalist are evangelical Christians, many of whom view Mormonism as a religion that is not evil but at the same time may consider voting for a candidate that follows their religion. I will be discussing the views of Mitt Romney, and Mormonism.

Mitt Romney, as I mentioned above follows many if not all beliefs the traditional right follows. For those that were unclear Mitt Romney is Pro-Life, Pro-Marriage, and for border security, Romney also has an impeccable track record in the Business world. Romney is Pro-Life, many people view his Pro-Life stance as a "flip-flop" however it was not, Romney upheld and respected Massachusetts' laws on abortion, however he did not pass the law to legalize abortion in the state of Massachusetts. Romney believes in the sanctity of marriage between a man and a women, and for raising children; Romney's belief is marriage has worked for centuries in the raising of children between a man and a woman and we should not change it, however he does feel the rights of same-sex couples should be upheld and a person in a same-sex relationship should be able to have all the benefits of marriage. In a letter to all senators Romney writes, "Americans are tolerant, generous, and kind people. We all oppose bigotry and disparagement, and we all wish to avoid hurtful disregard of the feelings of others. But the debate over same-sex marriage is not a debate over tolerance. It is a debate about the purpose of the institution of marriage. Attaching the word marriage to association of same-sex individuals mistakenly presumes that marriage is principally a matter of adult benefits and adults rights. In fact, marriage is principally about the nurturing and development of children. And the successful development of children is critical to the preservation and success of our nation." Romney supports securing our borders, as well as an employee verification system for member of our community who do not have a social security number, Romney also believes employers who higher illegal aliens should face consequences equal to that of someone not paying taxes. Mitt Romney is one of the greatest business minds in America, turning around companies' financial situation, this would greatly benefit America, as Romney has experience in dealing with money. I ask you now if you are a republican does this not sound like a solid candidate for the running of our country?

Mitt Romney may seem as though he is the perfect candidate(in my eyes he is), however he has a major bump in the road, the bump being his faith. Romney is a Mormon, many do not wish to vote for a Mormon simply because they do not know much about them, or they have misconceptions. The Mormon church is a very family orient faith, that practices primarily right views and overall supports conservative values. For those that do not know the Mormon church does believe in the Judeo-Christian god, as well as Jesus Christ, Mormons use the New and Old testament of the Bible along various other books. Another misconception is the LDS church does not support polygamy in 1830 the Mormon church stopped supporting any act of polygamy and excommunicated anyone who practiced polygamy. Mormons overall are a very nice, caring, people, I live in a community with quiet a big Mormon population, and talking to them casually they seem to be the most kind-hearted, genuine individuals I have had the pleasure meeting.

Mitt Romney is an astounding candidate for the Republican party, he protects many traditional views, which is very important. Compared with the other two front runners for the Republican GOP nomination Romney seems to be the best person to fight for the morals of the right. If Mitt Romney is not voted into the White House simply because he is Mormon would be a deplorable act. Take a close look at your views and see if Mitt Romney is the candidate for you based on views, not faith. If Mitt is not your candidate the other Republican GOP nominees are fine Americans also.

Thank you for taking your time to read this.

Formal Introduction

Greetings Town Hall members,

I am new to the "blogosphere" and have decided to start a blog for multiple reasons, the primary reason being today a lot kids political views are not heard and I feel it is an important part of our modern day society as we will be the future senators, governors, and yes, presidents; so our views on everything from immigration, foreign policy, the war on terror, and a wide array of other issues in America are very important.

For some background information on myself, my name is Willy and I am fourteen, I have a deep interest in politics, my family has very strong views on politics they are all conservative and I follow in their footsteps as also a conservative. All of the members of my family are middle-right on the political spectrum. Enough talking about me, let's discuss how the blog will work.

I have not decided in a manner or format in which this blog will be done. Some ideas I had were just my views on media happenings, etc. as this blog's goal is aimed at allowing others to see how we (kids) see our modern day society and its politics. I've also thought of giving my opinions (with evidence from trusted and respected sources) on politics, the campaign trail, etc. I've also thought of political book reviews; I think all of these ideas will appear in my blogs at one point or another.

This being my first blog I unfortunately do not have any researched topics to talk about; this being said I will do a book review. The book that I will review today is Culture Warrior by Bill O'reilly, this is a very interesting book about as the title suggest being a culture warrior. Not wanting to give any of this amazing book away I will give you a quick summary, it is not a democrat smear book in any way, it talks about the differences between traditionalist, and secular-progressives, and why traditionalist must stand up for their views, and many examples of traditionalist who have. It is a spectacular book and I suggest you read it, it is very informative.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog, and any suggestions for me a topic etc, would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, and God bless America.
